From Longwarry to the world!

Tenrose Simmental are fifth generation stud cattle farmers based in Longwarry, at the entrance to Gippsland. And they give back just about as much as they can.

In addition to successfully breeding Stud cattle, including the world’s highest Genomic tested female and bull in the breed, they’re strong advocates for the environment – and they practice what they preach.

Managing Director Sharon Jordan says they’re continually working towards increasing the farm’s sustainability, using wind power for water and investigating solar energy.

They’re also active members of Landcare Australia and have planted some 10,000 trees and fenced off part of their farm to encourage more local owls, Green Grass Growling Frogs and rare Australian Greyling fish into the area.

Sharon added that they’re also working to help future generations by offering free advice on cattle breeding, management and welfare, while helping agricultural students with research projects and allowing Berwick based Federation University, to include their stud this year.

From our very own Longwarry to the world; Tenrose Simmental also export interstate and internationally, with strong markets in Queensland and Japan.
