The Young Entrepreneur Challenge was held this year between June and August, culminating in the shark-tank style event on 2 August 2016.
Eight young people entered the challenge this year. Some were from local secondary schools and some were university graduates out there having a go at their own enterprises.
The ideas presented to the judges ranged from building specialised trailers, personal training with a twist, to a new type of communication platform.
All these young people had two things in common – an idea and the desire to succeed.
Local business people are eager to assist all these young people, by providing their time and expertise to mentor them and help them make their idea a reality. They will also be the founding members of an entrepreneur club soon to be established in the region.
Congratulations to Andrea and Tijana who won the challenge with their innovative and well thought out idea for the beauty industry. In addition to the mentoring they will have the opportunity to be part of the local business networks and events.
Andrea and Tijana have also won a year in the new co-working space at the Casey Cardinia Business Hub. This will provide them not only with professional office space to run their business from, but also plenty of opportunities to network with other businesses using the space.
We will update you on their progress before the next Young Entrepreneur Challenge in 2017.
The winners, Andrea and Tijana
